Azercosmos OJSC starts full commercial activity
Azerspace-1, first telecommunications satellite of Azerbaijan, starts full commercial activity from today. Thus, after a number of test operations, commercial-based broadcasting of both domestic and foreign TV and radio channels from satellite starts in full.
At the same time, with the view of increasing customer interest and increase the capacity of the viewers’ choice, the company is carrying out constant work in the direction of further increase of the number of channels and expansion of its geography, genre and language diversity. In the first stage, along with local channels, total 50 TV and radio channels will be broadcasted in English, Russian, Turkish and Persian languages and thereafter the number of the channels will be further increased.
Signing ceremony of the agreement on “Launch of transponder capacity of telecommunication satellite” between Azercosmos OJSC and ANS Independent Broadcasting and Media Company was also held today. Opening speech at the ceremony was made by Mirshahin Aghayev, vice president of ANS Group of Companies. Then, speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board of Azercosmos OJSC Rashad Nabiyev informed the participants on the current activities and future plans of the company. Following this, addressing the event president of ANS Group of Companies Vahid Mustafayev spoke about prospects of cooperation.
The event was attended by senior officials of the two organizations as well as media representatives. Then the signing ceremony took place. The agreement was signed by Azercosmos Chairman Rashad Nabiyev and president of ANS Group of Companies Vahid Mustafayev.
After the official part of the event, the participants familiarized themselves with Main Surface Satellite Control Center of Azercosmos OJSC.
