Preventive measures cover a much larger territory in the landslide zones of Agsu Pass, through which Baku- Gazakh segment of TAE fiber-optic cable line goes. In his interview with “ICTnews” online news service the head of Azelecom’s technical node Agamirsa Agamirzayev said that during the construction of Baku-Gazakh segment of TAE fiber-optic highway the landslide factor was taken into account, and uninterruptedness of communication in this part of the segment was insured.
Work in underway now in the landslide zones of Baku-Gazakh segment to prevent possible incidents that might be caused by natural disasters. “Such preventive measures are carried out on regular bases. Initially the underground cable was laid at the depth of 1.2 metres. We reduced this depth up to 50 centimetres in order to eliminate a real threat to the cable. We have already removed underground cables in the high-risk landslide areas. Besides that, as part of the preventive measures, an alternative cable line was laid across the area where Samakhi-Maraza highway intersect with Achidara river.”
