Top speakers from around the world will debate ways and means to foster greater international cooperation on securing cyber space
An international-level Conference called “Global Cyber Security Cooperation: Challenges and Visions” to take place on 2-3 December 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan. The conference, organized by the Government of Azerbaijan with the kind support of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), will welcome leading global experts on economic development and government policy to discuss strategies to leverage the transformational power of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to foster greater international cooperation on securing cyber space.
Today cyber security is given the highest priority on the global agenda and effective international cooperation is crucial to ensure online safety and robustness of networks. To achieve the multi-stakeholder dialogue, decision making and implementation of solutions, a lot of regional and global events are being held each year by various public, private and international institutions.
The Conference aims to facilitate discussions on all aspects of cyber security and to promote the exchange of best practices as well as sharing of meaningful information on major developments in the protection of online activities. The Conference will bring together high-level delegates and leading experts from governments, businesses, academia and NGOs to explore the prospects for further cooperation and to provide key insights into crucial cyber security issues.
Partners of the conference are the World Bank, World Economic Forum and INTERPOL.
Confirmed speakers include Hamadoun Touré, Secretary General of the ITU, Ministers of Afghanistan, Burundi, Iraq, Hungary, Bangladesh, high level representatives of ICT Authority of Turkey, European Parliament, Korean Information Security Agency, French Software Vendors Association and ICANN.
The event is held within the framework of the 19th Azerbaijan International ICT Exhibition, BakuTel which will be held at the Baku Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre from 2 to 5 December 2013. The event is supported by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and sponsored by HP.
