Radio electronic units increase by almost 143 percent over 10 years in Azerbaijan

The number of used radio electronic units (REU) in Azerbaijan increased by more than 142.9 percent in last ten years, a statistical report of the State Administration for Radio Frequencies of Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry posted on its official website says on Wednesday.

According to report, the number of used REUs during the reporting period increased by 18,012 units, registered by the State Administration for Radio Frequencies . Over the past five years, the Administration revealed 550 unregistered and illegally used REUs.

If, as of Jan. 1, 2002 the number of used REUs was 11,619 units, then as of Jan.1, 2011 it reached 28,228 units. According to statistics data, as of Sept.1, the number of used REUs in Azerbaijan hit 29,631 units.
