The exhibition was opened by the Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs of France Emmanuel Macron. During the opening ceremony, the heads of international organizations in the field of energy and nuclear science made presentations on the current state and prospects of development of this sphere. The experts discussed issues such as the safety of nuclear reactors, provision of nuclear fuel reserves, management of spent fuel and waste, extraction of valuable materials (uranium-238, uranium-233, plutonium-239, etc.) from spent fuel and the prospects of their further use, termination of operation of the power reactors whose service life has expired, etc.
Within the exhibition, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation, chairman of National Centre for Nuclear Research JSC Adil Garibov held meetings with the representatives of the French company AREVA and the Russian company Rosatom. Additionally, issues of mutual interest in the field of nuclear technologies were discussed with experts from Germany, France, Japan, Russia and South Korea. National Centre for Nuclear Research will apply in its future activity the experience and the new knowledge it has gained from the participation in this representative exhibition.
Azerbaijani delegation participates in World Nuclear Exhibition
An Azerbaijani delegation from of National Centre for Nuclear Research JSC under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies took part in the World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris, France. The exhibition showcased the exhibits that had been presented to it by nuclear facilities from a number of countries across the world.
