The participants of the workshop also discussed the possibilities of joint use of radar and optic images.

The workshop, which was organised with the purpose of educating potential beneficiaries, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Emergency Situations,  the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the National Aerospace Agency,  the Republican Seismic Survey Centre, the National Aviation Academy, the State Border Service, the State Maritime Administration, the State Oil Company, the company BP Azerbaijan and private companies engaged in the processing of satellite imagery.

Within the framework of cooperation, MDA Corporation, which receives radar images from its own Radarsat satellites and processes them, organises trainings on a long-term basis for Azercosmos employees. During these trainings, Azercosmos employees obtain valuable skills and knowledge in the field of processing satellite images.  And this workshop was organised as part of the cooperation project.
