Regular workshop on e-government held for students

The operator of the E-government portal – the Data Processing Centre of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies – jointly with the E-Government Training and Education Centre held a regular workshop for students.   
 
The purpose of the workshop was to help future specialists choose a career in the field of ICT, as well as to provide them with information about e-government, e-services, e-signature, e-documents, etc.   
 
Speaking at the workshop, which was held this time for the students of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU), the director of the Computer Centre of ASPU Ilham Ahmedov said that like all the other countries of the world, Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of the ICT sector.
 
He stressed that the application of information and communication technologies in the social sphere of the country began with the implementation of the National Strategy for 2003-2012 years.       
 
Then, the acting director of the E-Government Training and Education Centre Rauf Jabbarov spoke about the advantages of the IT sphere and forecasts for the development of this sphere.   
 
He informed the gathering in detail about the IT-related activities and projects that have been carried out by the Centre.

After that, a presentation outlining the role of the E-government portal was made.  The engineer of the Data Processing Centre Elvin Jafarli spoke about the creation and development of the portal, as well as the services it provides to citizens. 
 
Speaking about electronic documents circulation, Elvin Jafarli told the workshop participants about the advantages of e-signature.     
 
The workshop, which continued with presentations on different topics, concluded with a question-and-answer session and discussions.
