Naibov-Aylisli said the major issue on the agenda today is to execute works to build a fiber-optical cable mainline over the Caspian seabed.
Based on the protocol signed between the Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry's Center for International Relations and Payments and Kazakhstan's KazTransCom, the sides will halve superhighway creation-related costs.
"The Caspian segment of the cable superhighway is an important constituent part of TASIM as the highway's launch depends on the project's implementation. Research work on the construction of the Caspian segment should begin in mid-2012," Naibov-Aylisli said.
TASIM preliminary launch date specified
