The service of number portability to be available in the operators' network this year, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies informed.
Operators have to prepare network infrastructure to render this service. The service will be launched simultaneously by all three GSM operators.
According to information, Mobile Number Portability (MNP) services will allow subscribers to preserve their phone number in case of changing the operators. The introduction of the MNP service increases the competition.
As it is known, the rules of rendering of MNP service were officially registered at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice. The document was prepared by the Ministry together with mobile phone operators.
