During the ceremony the deputy director of ‘Azerpoct’ Surkhay Kazimov said that 3 topics had been proposed for the essay contest: 1 - by the Universal Postal Union, 1 - by the ‘Azerpoct’ LLC and 1 – by the Ministry of Education.
39,152 pupils wrote essays on the ‘Write a letter to the sportsman, whom you admire, best of all. In this letter you must tell him about the importance of the Olympic Games for you’, ‘Methods of propaganda of patriotism, enlightenment and liberty in the works of M.F.Akhundov’ and ‘Forests are lungs of our planet. Keep forests!’ topics.
According to S.Kazimov all the essays were sent to the post brunch of ‘Azerpoct’, where they were examined by teachers of various educational institutions. Then, 6 winning essays (2 best essays on each of the above-mentioned topics) were presented to ‘Azerpoct’. After that all the essays were sent to the Baku Education Department, whose employees once again examined them to select 31 best works.
The essays, which were declared the winners of the contest, were sent to the central office of the Universal Postal Union. S. Kazimov said that the general director of ‘Azerpoct’ Gambar Babayev signed an order to award the contest winners, who took the 1st place, with 100 manat money prizes and certificates of honor.
‘Under the order the winners who took the 2nd and the 3rd places were awarded with certificates of honor and 80 and 60 manat money prizes respectively. Those contestants, who took the 4th place, were also awarded with certificates of honor and 40 manat money prices,’ he said.
The deputy director of the Administration of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies Ilham Mardanov also made a statement to the ceremony. In his statement I.Mardanov noted that the ceremony was organized as part of activities being implemented in Azerbaijan in connection with the 89th birth anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. ‘Organization of this contest among school pupils is very praiseworthy, because it cultivates in teenagers the feeling of love towards the state and the fatherland,’ I.Mardanov added.
At the conclusion of the activity the winners were given honor certificates and money prizes.
