Provision of lump sum payments at post offices nearing completion
The process of providing lump sum payments (190 AZN) at the branch post offices of Azerpost LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies to the unemployed and low-income citizens who work informally and have lost their jobs due to the special quarantine regime is close to completion.
Within the framework of the relevant program, payments for April for 600,000 people were transferred to the bank branches and post offices by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. Under the project, payments of more than 590,000 citizens were made by Azerpost LLC, and the rest – by relevant banks. Citizens who have not yet received their benefits for April and whose lump sum payments were transferred to Azerpost LLC can receive their funds at post offices and “Shebeke” service centers by presenting their ID cards.
It should be noted that Azerpost LLC also continues to provide support for the implementation of a number of social projects during the special quarantine regime. Thus, in accordance with the strategy of corporate social responsibility, another campaign to support farmers is ongoing. To prevent mass gathering of people in closed spaces, “farmer cards” are delivered to farmers through Azerpost branches.
Moreover, to support the measures taken by the state, a social campaign under the slogan “We are strong together”, launched by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, continues. During the campaign, food assistance based on appeals is distributed among low-income and vulnerable families throughout the country. Azerpost LLC also supports the delivery of food assistance to families.
At the same time, within the framework of a social project implemented by the Regional Development Public Association of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and company Azercell, the state was supported in overcoming the temporary impacts of the global pandemic on vulnerable families. According to the list compiled by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, holiday gifts were distributed to some 6,000 low-income families living in Baku and receiving group I disability benefits. Gifts were provided to these families by Azerpost LLC.
