Presently, around 1000 post offices of “Azerpocht” LLC render banking and financial services. According to information provided by “Azerpocht”, all post offices of Ganja and Shaki regional post branches and 12 post offices of Agchabedi, Goychay, Beylagan and Guba post branches already provide these services.
The Central Bank will provide the post offices with licenses for rendering banking and financial services. The licenses, apart from accepting deposits and giving loans to the citizens, will allow these post offices to offer other banking services.
The post offices also have exchange bureaus, which are getting more and more popular among the citizens. At the post offices the citizens will soon be able to use “Western Union” service as well. Under the Project 1,200 post offices will provide financial and banking services.
“Azerpoch” intends to expand its network of financial and banking services so that it could compete with any of banks.
