The issues of cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) between Azerbaijan and Hungary were discussed at the meeting.
Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov informed the guests in detail about the current level of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan, the prospects for further development of the space industry in the country, new projects to be implemented in the framework of the “Year of information and communication technologies” and achievements received in the implementation of E-government.
Speaking about the first telecommunications satellite Azerspace-1, launched into orbit in February of current year, the Minister stressed that the satellite will play an important role in the further development of Azerbaijan.
The Minister invited representatives of the relevant ministry and IT companies of Hungary to participate in the annual conference and exhibition Bakutel. It was noted that Azerbaijan is working to create a High-Tech Park in the country, the University of Information Technologies starts from next academic year, and soon operates the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies.
Ali Abbasov said that there is a favorable environment in our country and good opportunities for investment in this sector.
In turn, noting that Azerbaijan is experiencing a rapid development of the ICT sector, Zsuzsa Németh expressed confidence that the cooperation between our two countries will also continue in the future. Hungarian Minister stressed the importance of implementing complex activities and the need for mutual cooperation to achieve positive results in the field of ICT.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
