At the meeting, held at the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, the sides discussed issues of expansion of cooperation in the field of telecommunications and mail, joint participation in regional projects, intensification of experience exchange for developing the E-government model, regulation of radiofrequencies in border areas, cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity, satellite and mobile communications, and internet services.
Welcoming the guests, Ramin Guluzade said that after his first meeting with the Iranian counterpart, the works carried out jointly by the two countries in the communications and high technologies sector have picked up their speed. Speaking about the practicability of attracting private Iranian IT companies to the ICT sector of Azerbaijan, the Minister noted that the International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and Conference – Bakutel can serve as an efficient platform to this end. Touching upon the successful experience in the transmission of internet traffic, Ramin Guluzade emphasised the importance of cooperation in cyber security.
In his turn, Mahmoud Vaezi expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation in the sphere of communications and high technologies. He stressed that the mutual cooperation enables the two countries to support each other at international organizations as well. Mahmoud Vaezi said that in general, the opportunities existing in this area must be extensively used.
In conclusion, it was decided that within a short period of time, the Working Group will begin the fulfilment of the tasks that were discussed at the meeting.
